Hello!
Today I will write/type about Adora Svitak's speech explaining why children are better than adults. I think she was right and learned more about the difference between the minds of kids and those of grownups.
First, I realized that we children needed to be raised up carefully in order to make a good world in the future and am excited about seeing a leader that used to be a kindergartener in the past. Until today, I only cared about the present and the past. I just tried to fix up mistakes I made yesterday, and then tommorow I would make up for what I did wrong today. However, the past is already over, while the future hasn't even started yet. And how the future goes or what's going to happen later is up to kids. When I heard that speech, finally I started to think of tommorow, not only my tommorow, but the whole world's tommorrow.
Secondly, this speech inspired me not only to think in the far, far future, but also to make changes today. It made me much more eager to START making differences(even small ones), not just sitting there and waiting for babies to create the world. As she said, already, children TODAY can make changes. I strive to show the ability of "mere kids". Adora's opinion(and mine too) is that people should not underestimate us. She was especially annoyed with people setting rules for children and restricting them to do certain things because they had a lack of trust for kids.
Finally, I wanted to improve myself(especially my grades). Honestly, it's hard to change yourself when you are a fully mature adult. As Walt Disney quoted," Everybody thinks of changing the world, but nobody thinks of changing himself. Change the inside BEFORE changing the outside. If a person wanted to save people from cancer, but at the same time smoked and drank alchohol himself, do you think he could do a good job? I don't think so.
This speech persuaded me that children can do just as much as grownups, even more than them sometimes, and I want to do just that.
I think your response shows that you really thought about Miss Svitak's speech. Your essay is clear and well-organized.
