Hi!

Do you know the movie "Brave"? It is a very interesting and also touching movie. In "Brave", the main character is a tomboyish princess named Merida with curly, red, fiery hair that flows out in all directions. Today I will write about the main character and what I felt about her after watching the movie.
I will talk about her personality. She is very adventurous and curious and often wanders around in the wild. As I said, she is a tomboy. Do you know what her favorite hobby is? You might guess sewing or painting or reading books or trying out dresses. However, you are wrong. Merida likes archery. Not very suitable for a princess, is it? She is a very skilled archer and always hits the bull's eye. Now you will probably know how unique she is.
Merida is stubborn and is enthusiastic about doing what she truly likes. Determined for getting her own way, she is even brave enough to oppose her mother the queen, who wants her to be a "proper princess". She is not afraid to tell everyone what she wants and never gives up on her dream.
The last aspect of her personality I want to talk about is her strong feelings. Merida has very intense emotions and expresses them very clearly. Throughout the movie, I could understand exactly what her emotions were and even felt a little of it. When she shows her feelings, she show it in her face, by body language and by words. Remember, she does all tree of these for every single emotion.
I think we should learn from Merida the three things I have written here today. First, don't hesitate to have your own style. Don't always try to follow the crowd, like wearing the kind of clothes that everyone else in your group of friends wears even though that's not your favorite style. Second, don't give up. You have to be determined(and a little disobedient, yes) in order to make your own dreams come true. Finally, express your feelings clearly in order to be happy(when you're feeling sad, talk to somebody).

  1. You have such a natural writing voice. Your writing is clean and very well organized. It is obvious that you have put in thought, work, and diligent.

I love your view of what Merida is like. It's so positive! Do you share these characteristics?

I can't wait to read your next essay.
